He is the Reason for the Season

Christmas is my favorite time of the year. The Christmas tree illuminating the home. Lights hanging from the shingles lighting the yard for all to see. Christmas music on every radio station. Your family gathered in the living room opening gifts from one another. This time of the year is full of love and happiness.

For me this year will be the first time that this holiday is more than just that. This year for me this holiday is about the birth of my savior Jesus.  This year is about making sure that my children understand that as well. That yes this holiday is about giving and receiving gifts from family and friends and of course that big jolly old elf Santa Clause. But it is more importantly the time of the year we celebrate the birth of Jesus and remember the miraculous way in which he was born. It is a time that we thank God for the gift he gave us. Which is a savior that loved us enough to die for us and now is the one and only way to get to heaven.

Take a moment out of this Christmas to thank God for the greatest gift anyone has ever given. For the love and mercy he gave us when he sacrificed his only son for your sins.
